Senior Football

Currin began their 2013 Intermediate Football league campaign away in Cremartin on Sunday last. Played in very difficult conditions, Currin started tentatively and had to wait until the twenty eight minute for Stephen Smith to score a cracking goal to leave Currin leading at half time on the scoreline of 1-4  to 1-2. In the second half we played excellent football against the strong win to deservedly run out winners 1-10 to 1-7. Team and scorers: Fergal Connolly, Dara Brady, Conor Mc Caffrey, Sean Brady, Gerard O Callaghan, Ben Clerkin, Enda McCaffrey, Dick Clerkin, Ciaran Mc Caffrey, Niall McEntee, Stephen Smith, (1-0), Stephen Beatty,(0-1), Philip O Callaghan, (0-2), Jack Mc Carron, (0-7), Kieran Kearns. Boxing News

Congratulations to Terry Mc Entee who has had a great run of victories lately. Havng won the Ulster boys title, Terry last weekend travelled to Dublin for the All Ireland finals. Having successfully cruised through the preliminaries he fought a fantastic fight in the semi-final to overcome the favourite and progress to the final, against all the odds. However he just came up short against a bigger and more experienced opponent and came away with the silver medal. Well done Terry and coach Fergal on this great achievement.

Ladies football

Another big win for Monaghan Ladies over Dublin last Sunday. Well done to Ellen who scored six points and Laura who now look forward to the semi-finals.
