Intermediate Football League: Last Sunday we welcomed Clones to Corduff when we tried to get our league campaign off. The wind played a major factor within the game as it was gale force at times. The visitors played with the wind in the 1st half and they soon opened their scoring when they hit the back of the net in the 4th minute they added a point to this before Padraic Keenan opened Corduff scoring with a free In the ninth minute, however clones regrouped and scored 5 unanswered points before another free from padraic keenan and then in injury time Keith mc Enaney also converted a free. This left the half time score Corduff 0-03 Clones 1-06.  Clones again started the half quickest registering the first score, then in the 11th minute Keith Mc Enaney got Corduff’s first goal of the day, Raymond and Keith added frees before a goal mouth scramble and the ball hit the back of the Corduff net again, Keith again added another free. This left the score Corduff 2-06 to Clones 1-07 entering the closing stages, Clones pulled back a point in the 33rd minute but we held on for the win.

Seniors:

The Senior team had it’s first outing of the season last Saturday away to Emyvale. Under the guidance of stand-in Manager Michael McEnaney the ladies put in a great performance fighting for every ball. Emyvale started very strong. However our Ladies kept their composure and from the goalie, backs, midfield to the full forwards they worked tirelessly for scores. Corduff opened the score with a point from Nicky Carragher. Nicky continued to score 5 points on what was her first time to line out with the Senior team. Our U14 player Keely Culleton rattled the net and proved to be a threat in front of the goals throughout the match. Hope to see more of this from these two players!! At the other end of the field Rosie Fox pulled off some good saves. Corduff were missing some of the regulars but the other players stepped up to the challenge. Despite this experience won out in the end with Emyvale finishing comfortable winners.
