Flag Day

There will be a club meeting in the clubrooms this evening, Thursday at 9.30pm. A rota will be drawn up for the forthcoming flag weekend in Monaghan town on Friday, 3rd and Saturday, 4th May. It is suggested that each person will have a maximum of a one and a half hour slot it is vital we get big numbers to alleviate the burden on others and to enable the slots to be a maximum of 1 hour 30 minutes.

Senior League

Clontibret 2-9, Ballybay 1-11. We secured what finished up to be an unlikely victory against Ballybay last week. We had a very young team out and they showed great heart and determination in very difficult playing conditions. Team and scorers: Arthur Morgan, Liam Savage, Conor Boyle, Kieran Greenan, Christopher Tedore, Martin Corey, Brian Greenan, Eoin Greenan 0-1, Conor McManus 1-6, Rodney Gorman 0-1, Fergal Mone, Pauric Boyle, Michael Paul O’Dowd 0-1, Conor Lavelle, Ryan McGuigan 1-0. Subs: Kevin Ward, Aodh Curran, Ronan Murphy.

Clontibret 0-12, ‘Blayney 0-14. This was a hard fought contest and one which we could have won but didn’t do enough in the second half and ‘Blayney ran out 2 point winners. Team and scorers: Arthur Morgan, Kieran Greenan, Conor Boyle, David Savage, Brian Greenan, Martin Corey, Darach Mooney 0-1, Eoin Greenan, Fergal Greenan, Rodney Gorman 0-1, Fergal Mone, Pauric Boyle, Conor McManus 0-7, Vinnie Corey, Ryan McGuigan 0-2. Subs: Ronan Murphy, Christopher Tedore 0-1, Kevin Ward, Colm Greenan.

We play Latton on Wednesday in Clontibret at 7.30pm followed by an away match against the Harps on Wednesday, 8th May at 7.45pm.

Reserve League Division 1

We played the Harps yesterday evening, result next week.

Our next game in this league is scheduled for Wednesday, 22nd May away to ‘Blayney at 7.45pm.

Reserve League Division 3

Clontibret 3-11, Harps 1-10. This was a closely contested game throughout but we managed to pull away towards the end to get a victory.

We take on Killanny in the Division 3 championship on Friday, 3rd May at home at 7.15pm.

U21

We play Truagh away tomorrow evening, Friday at 7.30pm.

Minor

Clontibret 0-7, Killanny 0-11. This was a close fought contest but Killanny pulled away in the last ten minutes to win by 4. Best wishes to Martin Moen who sustained an injury in the game.

Clontibret 4-11, Donaghmoyne 4-12. We lost out by a point to Donaghmoyne despite a great come back in a thrilling game. Donaghmoyne raced ahead in the first half but we fought back gallantly in the second.

We have a home game against St. Patrick’s on Tuesday at 7.15pm, followed by an away game against Aughnamullen on Tuesday, 7th May at 7.30pm.

U16

Clontibret 1-7, St. Patrick’s 0-15. This was a game in which we didn’t perform our best but still had plenty of chances to win.

We take on Seans in Clontibret next Thursday, 2nd May at 7pm.

U14

Clontibret 9-17, Toome 4-17. This was a high-scoring affair where the extra goals we scored was the difference.

We suffered a heavy defeat against our parishioners Doohamlet last Saturday.

Next up is a home game against Seans on Saturday week, 4th May at 12pm.

U12

We played Oram on Tuesday gone by, result next week. We have a home game against Doohamlet on Saturday at 12pm.

U10

Training on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm. Well done to all who took part in the first Go Games of the year last Saturday, a great all-round display from the boys.

U8

Go Games for u8s this Saturday in Clontibret. Be in the dressing room for 9.30am.

Nursery

Training for nursery, u8 boys and u8 and u10 girls tomorrow evening, Friday from 6pm-7pm at the field.

Hurling

We had another win in the Development league last Thursday night against Carrickmacross. The Senior league starts tonight (Thursday) with a home v Castleblayney at 7.15pm

The minors have a home match on Sun 28th v Truagh at 12pm
