The late Tommy Fee R.I.P.
The late Tommy Fee came from his native Broomfield to Blackhill in 1960 when he married his late wife Kitty Ann. Tommy established himself as a very successful building contractor and gave great employment in the locality. For a number of years he had a factory workshop were youths from the locality and surrounding areas served their apprenticeships at the woodwork trade. He was instrumental in the recommencement of the Blackhill G.A.A. club in 1964 and one of his fields was used for training before moving on to Robinsons meadow. Tommy served as Blackhill club chairman for a number of years in the early 1970’s. He played a major role in the building of the “Blackhill House” which was built by volunteers and raffled in 1983 generating substantial funds for the clubs ground development. Tommy was the contractor who developed the playing field in 1984 and again in 1999 when he erected the clubs social centre. Tommy was an avid G.A.A. supporter and a great follower of the county team, attending all their games until recent times. Ref: Seamus McEneaney. PRESENTATION NIGHT
The Emerald Sarsfields U-21 presentation night has been confirmed for Saturday 4th May in Oram. Scotstowns Darren Hughes is the special guest. Tickets €10 are available from the club social centre.
