‘Blitz’-reige – McDonnell’s historical hills in Marnakill and Drumgoose were alive with the sound of the music of the ‘clash of the ash’ on Saturday morning, 2nd March last, that emanated from Toome’s Astro Park, where over eighty under 13 young ‘Setantas’, representing teams from Inniskeen (2), Castleblayney (2), Carrickmacross, Clontibret and Monaghan Harps, showcased their hurling skills, in a brilliant exhibition of the finer arts of our most ancient of sporting activities.

The ‘blitz’, which was organised by Monaghan GAA County Board, was expertly directed and managed by development officer Pauric Dowdall, Inniskeen and his staff.

And, the good news is, there will be a continuation of the games on the Astro Park on Saturday 9th next, starting at 10am.
