Over the last number of weeks we have been running our Coach Education and Development programme throughout the county. This programme has been a great success to date.
There was alot of interest in our coach education programmes with a great uptake of our three Foundation and two Level 1 courses. There were two foundation courses held in Cloghan on 15th and 16th February for Football and 8th and 9th March for both football and hurling. The third foundation football coaching course was held in Latton on the 25th & 28th of Febraury and the 4th of March. Our Level 1 Childrens course was held on 8th/9th and 10th February and the Level 1 Youth/Adult course was held on 22nd/23rd and 24th February, both in Cloghan. All these courses were well attended and participants showed a high standard of coaching and eagerness to learn.
In coach development, coaching workshops were held for coaches of U6 and U8 teams. These workshops were regionalised into North and South Monaghan and the majority of clubs were well represented at the workshops in their regions. Monaghan Coaching and Games Development Committee and Coaching staff would like to thank all the clubs, coaches and tutors for their support in making this programme a success. Additionally we would like to thank Patrician High School and Scotstown GFC for the use of their excellent facilities.
Coaching workshops for U10/U12 coaches is due to start Thursday, 21st March.
