A 6 week Football After School Programme was run in both the North and West of the County from November – December 2012. This programme consisted of coaching 6th class boys on a Tuesday and Thursday evening from 4pm to 5:30pm. Both coaching programmes were run in St Macartan’s Secondary School.
On Sunday 3rd of March players from the North region participated in the half time game at the Monaghan v Sligo National Football League match in Clones
On Saturday 16th March players from the West region participated in the half time game at the Monaghan v Wicklow National Football League match in Clones
The school’s represented in the North region were; Threemilehouse, Corcaghan, Edenmore, Leitrim, Clara, Corracrin, Glaslough, Gransha, Deravoy, Urbleshanny, Tydavnet and Knockatallen.
The school’s represented in the West region were; Monaghan BNS, Gaelscoil Ultain, Clones, Latton, Killeevan, Scotstown, Latnamard, Rockcorry, Corcaghan, Connons, Gaelscoil Eois and Magherarney.
Marty Corey, Paul O Connor and Colin Malone coached at these venues. This programme proved to be very successful. All players that took part enjoyed each session.
Monaghan Coaching & Games would like to take this opportunity to thank St Macartan’s for the use of their facilities and also a big thank you to the players and the parents of the players who took part in the 6 week programme and the half time games.
