Championship Awards night.
The triumphant Ballybay Pearse Brothers gathered on Friday night, 1st March, to celebrate their fantastic county championship winning season with over 250 guests including UTV GAA commentator Adrian Logan at the club’s annual dinner dance.
With jokes a plenty and great pride in their achievement, the crowd enjoyed a great meal from local man George Wallace, and revelled in their glory until the small hours, accompanied by special guest Mick Duffy!
The club would like to thank everyone who attended the event, along with caterers, bar staff, musicians etc. for their continued support. Proceedings on the night was spear headed by Joe Sullivan and ably assisted by Adrain Login. Martin and Grainne Mc Aviney were presented by the club for Martin’s achievement as Uachtarn Chomhairle Uladh. Next in line was our local historian Peadar Murane who was presented with a signed book, Peadar responded with stories of our club in years gone by. The U21 team led by captain Brent Wylie received their medals from Pauric Sherry on behalf of the county board. The highlight of the night was our senior team receive their medals from Martin Mc Aviney and Paul Finlay captain paid tribute to the management team and all involved this past year. John Duffy past manager of Junior team introduced Junior Player of the year Cillian Mc aviney who was named for his hard work on the field.Next on stage was John Joe Gormon, manager of senior team, to present Senior Player of the year who he said delivered consistently throughout the year and was worthy winner Christopher Mc Guinness. The final presentations were to Team Management, Deidre Mc Elroy, Deidre Duffy and Pam Coyle. Pauric Joyce spoke to Adrian Logan about his playing career before the lively auction took place. Senior Teams, Training has now commenced for Senior, Junior and U21 players each week
Junior B’s. Junior team play their 1st game of the season in Ballybay this Sun 10th Mar at 2pm against Tyholland
St.Pats U-16’s and Minors. Training continues every Tuesday and Thursday in Ballybay at 7pm in top field, please bring boots and gum shields

Ballybay Pearse Bros.have decided to run a similar session for 10-13year old boys.Training will begin in the Recreation Centre on Friday 22nd February from 6-7pm,€2 per child per night.Contact Enda 085 1509241.

Congratulations. Well done to Drumhownan Musical Group on winning All Ireland Scor na nOg competition. Great achievement for young people, Also to Colm Kirke, Clones on winning recitation section with” Cross eyed Monaghan Hurler” Well done.
Mouthguards – It becomes mandatory to use a mouth guard in all football matches and training sessions for all age grades up to and including minors from January 1st 2013, and at U21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014. All parents ensure that each player has suitable mouth guard for their own safety.
Ballybay Bulgebusters 5k Fun Run The 5k fun run is being held on Sunday 10th March, Registrations at Ballybay Pearse Bros centre at 3pm. Run starts at 4-15 pm. This run is open to all who wish to take part. Entry fee 10€.
Club Membership Membership is now due and closing date is drawing near . Membership can be paid to Paddy Kerr and John Keenan. 50€ per per person which includes entrance into all Pearse Brothers home league games or 20€ per person. Membership must be paid before 31st March and all players must have membership for players insurance, Blotto No’s 1-9-10-15. Jackpot €2800
