Reserve Football
Congratulations to Gerry Monahan on his appointment as reserve team manager for 2013. The reserve team have their first outing of 2013 on Mar 3rd weather permitting.
Committee Meeting
A meeting of the Executive Committee will take place Tuesday 26th at 9 0’clock.
Club membership
Membership for the year is now due, all players juvenile & adult will have to be paid up members to be covered by the GAA insurance. Membership can be paid to Mickey Duffy or any committee member, €20 per adult and €10 for u16.
Mouthguards
From January 1st 2013 it will be mandatory for all players up to and including minor to use a mouthguard for training sessions and all matches.
Awards night
On Saturday night last we held our annual awards night, despite the lack of silverware a large crowed turned out for what was a very successful and enjoyable night. Special guest on the night included Gerry Duffy, Co board Delegate and our Hall of Fame winners Peter Clarke & Seamus O’ Daly. M C for the night Francis Ward kept the crowed entertained and ensured that the night’s presentations went along without any hitches. Senior Player of Year. This award went to Bernard O’ Brian. BOB has been one of the best forwards in Monaghan for the last 10 years and with his great attitude and commitment to the Latton club he was a very worthy and popular winner. Reserve Player of year. Christopher Rice took this award in his first year playing senior football, Christopher got his name on the score board in every one of the reserve games he played. His work rate and never give up attitude has seen him called into this year’s CO Minor panel. Hall of Fame. Former greats of Lattton football Seamus O’ Daly and Peter Clarke spoke fondly and with great pride of their time playing football with Latton, their success on the playing field and the many great footballers they played with. Latton GAA is delighted to welcome these great players from our past into our hall of fame. Presentations were made to the following. Newlyweds. Patrick & Eileen Conlan. Stephen & Lavina Fitzpatrick. Peader & Caitriona Coyle. Outgoing treasurer and club sponsor Paul & Niamh Quinn. U-12 winning team management Martin Duffy & peter West. The senior players made a presentation to the outgoing team management and Martin Brady was honoured for his hard work and contribution to the latton club. A special thanks to Peader Lynch and his staff for the excellent food and great service. To all the workers who prepared the centre for the night. To the band for the great lively music. To the bar staff who did not get home to early and everyone who helped out on the night & with the organising of a very successful night.
Coaching course
Foundation coaching courses will be held in the centre over 3 evenings starting on Monday 25th Feb & Thursday 28th Feb with the final session on Monday 4th March anyone interested in attending these very worthwhile courses can contact Martin Duffy on 086 8785530 for more information.
Referee Availability

Ballybay cancer society.
A fundraiser in aid of Ballybay cancer society will be held in Latton GAA centre on this weekend. Starting Saturday night at 9-30 with music by country star Ciaran Rosney followed by DJ. On Sunday vintage Honda bike run. All bikes on display from 10am till 12noon. Run leaving at 12-30 sharp. All size of bikes welcome to enter. Please come and support a very worthy cause. All proceeds going to Ballybay cancer society.
Juvenile football
Next juvenile meeting will take place on Feb 25th at 9 o’ clock.
U-21.
This year’s competition starts much earlier than normal with the first game set for Mar 20th.
