Monaghan have won on the double at the All-Ireland Scór na nÓg finals in Derry on Saturday evening.
Drumhowan’s success in the instrumental group category was quickly followed by the announcement that Colm Kirke from Clones had been chosen for his recitation of ‘The cross-eyed Monaghan hurler’. Comhghairdeas and well done to all involved.
MONAGHAN SENIOR SCÓR FINALS 2013
The Finals of Monaghan Senior Scor were held in The Community Centre Clontibret on Friday night before a packed and appreciative audience.
The Truagh Club won the Deirdre Rooney Cup for the most improved club . The Emyvale club were the big winners, winning 5 out of the 8 titles on the night.
They won the Ceilí dancing ,solo singing with Edel Mc Mahon,Recitation with Laura Treanor ,Ballad group ,and Set dancing.
The remaining titles, Instrumental music Aughnamullen,Novelty act Aghabog, and Question time Scotstown.
The winners now go through to the Ulster semi finals in the Sean Mac Diarmada complex next Saturday night against Armagh and Cavan starting at 7.30.
Great credit is due to all of the clubs in the County who participated in the Scór finals and our thanks and best wishes are extended to them.
