Scor All Ireland Final is taking place in Derry on the 23rd we are represented by Colm Kirke and his recitation piece “The Cross Eyed Monaghan Hurler”. It’s not every year that our club is represented in an All Ireland final indeed it’s been 33 years since we last contested a final. We’ll be running a bus and your support would be greatly appreciated.
Senior Training continues on Tuesday and Friday nights at 7:45 sharp on the “Holy Ground”. There’s been a great turnout lately with up on thirty togged out most nights. First round league games are scheduled for the end of March and with February a short month it won’t be long till that comes around. It’s great to see our club players representing the county at all levels, with two minors, an under 21 and senior player on their respective County panels. Minors are requested to attend senior training.
Development Squad Eoin McQuaid, James Mealiff and James MacElwaine are on the Under 16 County development squad, this is a great platform for these young players, the benefit to them, the club and their teams can be underestimated well done lads and keep up the good work.
Minors; this season we’re amalgamating the minor squad with Eire Og, this team will be managed by Jimmy Corr, Gerry O Gorman, Micky Tierney and Seamus Morrow. Clones currently have two County minors whilst Eire Og have three, this gives the team great depth and we wish them well.
Clones Erne East Project; the naming of this venue continues with a brainstorming session on the 17th of February in the Orange Hall in Aghadrumsee, please attend if you can.
All coaches please attend workshops being held in Cloghan on Wednesdays evening. Level 1 course for children and youth/adult courses for those who have completed foundation level. These are going ahead in the coming weekends in Cloghan. If you need information please contact coaching officer.

Commiserations to the Largy U-19’s who lost out to Cookstown on Friday evening last. Cookstown are defending All Ireland champions winning the 2012 final by 15 points, they put up a similar performance on Friday night and whilst it was a disappointing evening for our lads, they can take heart from the fact that they’re county champions for this year and experience like that is priceless. Well done for getting there, and thanks to the coaches and mentors who go beyond the call of duty.
Congratulations to Orla Reilly and Ella Daly on being selected for the ladies County panel, a great achievement and continued success.
