Sean’s Notes

Team manager.  The man who will guide the fortune of our adult’s team quest for promotion and glory for the coming season will be decided at this week’s committee meeting.  Print deadline doesn’t allow the disclosure of the successful candidate name at time of copy submission, but no doubt this long awaited decision will be in the public area and on the club grapevine late on Tuesday night.  That and other news surrounding administration personnel both on the Executive and youth committee will appear here next week.

Under age. Plans are currently being put in place to establish a youth committee to spear head under age activities in the club for 2013. With activities for most age groups commencing shortly it is worth reminding parents that all underage children participating in football activities within the club that ; it IS mandatory to use a mouth guard in all Gaelic Football matches and training session from January 1st 2013 for all age groups up to and including minor. So when you go shopping for those new boots, shorts, etc. don’t forget a mouth guard must also be included on your list.

Cultural Night. Our Traditional Irish Music session takes place on the 2nd Friday of each month. Next session takes place this Friday, 11th January @ 9pm sharp. In 2013, a concerted effort will be made to embrace the wider cultural elements to our night, considering we have so many talented dancers and singers in our midst. We look forward to seeing you all there for a great night’s entertainment. Refreshments served.  Membeship. Membership subscriptions are now due for renewal and should be paid to club registrar Marie Mc Entee over the coming weeks. Our club membership fee remains at €20. Playing members are reminded too that they must have their subscriptions paid before they came be selected or participate in any games in the coming season.

Bowls. Indoor bowls continues on Thursday nights from 8.00 -10.30, after the short Christmas recess we hope to see all regular faces back on the mats on Thursday nights.

Dancing for Fun. Dancing classes for all age groups in mixed styles, modern line salsa hip-hop funky waltz and many more begin in the complex main hall on Thursday night 10th January. Classes for kids begin at 5.30 to 6.30pm while adults take to the floor from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

Sympathy. We extend our deepest sympathy to Darren, Sean and Liam Morgan juvenile playing members with the club on the death of their grandmother Agnes Mullan Drumsheeney, and to her husband Peter and the family circle on their great loss.Go ndeana Dia trocaire ar a n- anam.

 Season Ticket 2012. Now that the inter county season has kicked off we wish our new county team manager Malachy o Rourke, the panel, and especially our own goalkeeping stalwart Mark Keogh good fortune and success in the year ahead. Just to remind supporters, the Gaa have unveiled their season ticket for 2013 priced at €85 for adults and €10 for Under16’s, it includes entry to the AIB Club Finals on 17th March, to all Allianz League Matches  and to the county’s opening Championship Fixture.
