Annual Social & Presentation Night
Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Well not quite yet, but there’s not long to go before the BIGGEST event of the year, our annual social & presentation night, which takes place on Saturday 9th February in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan. This is always a very enjoyable occasion and this year’s annual social night will once again be something very special as it brings us all together once again to celebrate in true, “Rockcorry Style”, the historic achievement of our senior team that won the Vincent McAviney Cup. The night will also include many other highlights including presentations to the latest inductee into our Hall of Fame and awards will also be presented to our senior, reserve and minor players of the year. These nights only come round once in a lifetime so make sure you get your tickets and experience this memorable night first hand. Admission is by ticket only and tickets costing €25 each can be purchased from any committee member and we look forward to meeting you and your friends to join us for one hell of a PARTY! Entertainment will be provided by the fabulous ‘Hit the Floor’.

Digging Up
Last weekend I uploaded a couple of old photographs to our Facebook page and the interest was overwhelming particularly attempts at guessing who the young mascot was walking alongside Mickey Conlon at the official opening of Pairc Naomh Mhuire in 1991. I can confirm that the young lad was Dwayne Rooney and well done to everyone who guessed correctly. It is always nice and really interesting looking back at old photographs telling “remember when” stories and laughing out loud until your sides burst. I am eager to compile a catalogue of old photographs or club memorabilia and I am appealing to everyone within the club, the community and further afield to please go through your photo album, those old shoeboxes under your bed or the biscuit tin in your wardrobe and see what you can dig up! I know it’s probably a huge effort to dig them up but it’s really important that we make an effort to record all our amazing experiences, memorable moments and the wonderful stories concerning the club so that in future years future generations can look back and perhaps relive fond memories and stories. Please be assured that anybody who brings forward their precious memorabilia will be able to bring it back again as I will scan the items digitally and catalogue them. This is your chance to record and be part of the history of the club so please feel free to email me at pro.rockcorry.monaghan@gaa.ie or contact me on 086-1041165 should you have anything to share with the club. Show me the Photos, SHOW ME THE PHOTOS!!!

If anyone within the club is interested in attending this forum please contact club secretary, Martina Mckeown, as soon as possible.
