Make-A-Wish® and Camogie Association announce details of charity match
Make-A-Wish® Ireland and the Camogie Association has announced that they are to stage a unique charity match which will see the current All Ireland inter-county champions, Wexford and club champions, Oulart-the-Ballagh come face to face. The match will be held this Sunday, January 20th at St. Mary’s GAA Grounds Tagoat, Rosslare, Wexford with admission only €5. The Camogie Association and Make-A-Wish recently announced a three year partnership at the All Ireland Camogie Championship Final last September.
Speaking about the upcoming event, Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive, Make-A-Wish Ireland, said:
“We are really looking forward to this special match which will see the reigning senior inter-county champions Wexford and senior All Ireland club champions, Oulart-the Ballagh go head to head. We would encourage as many people as possible to support this and help grant the wishes of children living with life-threatening illnesses.”
President of the Camogie Association Aileen Lawlor said:
“I am delighted Wexford Camogie is helping to support the work of the Association’s chosen charity. The Camogie Association and Make-A-Wish announced our partnership at last year’s All Ireland Finals and the upcoming match between the reigning senior inter-county and senior club All Ireland champions marks the first of a number of initiatives throughout the course of the year, undertaken by the Association to support the terrific work of Make-A-Wish. This year’s match is also a novel event pitting county and club team-mates against one another with a host of All Stars in action. We hope that the GAA and Camogie family of Wexford and further afield will come out and support not only their current stars, but also the work of the Make-A-Wish foundation.”
