BAWN HANDBALL
Juvenile handball- Best of luck to our juvenile finalists playing in St.Mealons this Sunday 13th. In action are Gary Mc Elroy, Gavin Coyle and Sarah and Saoirse Boyd. All support welcome.
Juvenile training- training starts back this Saturday from 5pm.
Senior leauge – started back after Christmas break. We played Corduff Monday night and after a tough battle we came out on top.
GAA leauge- this is also back in action with both teams in action.
Club leauge- Semi final line out is up on the notice board in the alley. Games to be played this week.
Ulster championship- fixtures are in the alley for ulster championship. Best of luck to all participating.
MELLANS HANDBALL
Juvenile County Championships. The Juvenile county singles finals were cancelled last weekend and will now take place this weekend coming, on Saturday the 12th in Tydavnet the girls finals are being held where we have Shauna Mc Aree in the U16 final and we may yet still have a representative in the U14 grade but a play-off may have to be held during the week, games begin at 7pm, and in St.Mellans on Sunday the 13th the boys finals take place starting at 11am, we only have 2 finalists in the boy’s section and the unfortunate thing was that they were also playing each other, Ryan and Aaron Mohan meet in the U14 final.
Minor Championships. The minor championships also take place this weekend in which we have 2 representatives in Niall Rooney and Ryan Treanor, this is also in Tydavnet on Friday coming the 11th at 7pm good luck to all in action.
I most apologise to Anna-Rose and Sharon Mc Clave for not thanking them for providing the soup and bread for the juvenile championships games back on December the 16ththanks very much ladies, as usual it went down a treat.
Club Juveniles. We had to cancel the juvenile club finals before Christmas but hope to run them off soon, all will be notified when they are re-arranged. We also hope to run off some other format of a league for the juveniles over the next few weeks and we will be looking at running off some inter club blitz’s during the coming months so please all players keep practising on your own time until these events are organised. The beginners will also be back on Saturday evenings starting this Saturday coming the 12th, normal times 5 and 6pm, all new comers welcome, 5 Euro registration fee.
GAA Leagues. All league games still ongoing. Please make sure all fixtures are fulfilled home and away, would the captains of all teams in the senior or GAA either email myself or contact Kevin so I can have all results for notes every week.
Club Shop. Still all handball gear available for all players, shop opened Fridays 7-8pm.
GAA Handball Show. Series 5 of the handball show is continuing on January the 14th, 21st and the 28th at 8:30pm.
Committee Meeting. We are having a club meeting tomorrow night (11th) in St.Mellans at 8pm sharps, could all members please attend as we have a few events to organise.
The club would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Kevin our club secretary and the wider Treanor family on the death of his father Francie, a larger than life character will be missed in the parish and further a field.
