Ulster Scór na nÓg semi-finals

By michael Tue 11th Dec

The Ulster semi finals of Scór na nÓg between Cavan, Armagh and Monaghan took place in Silverbridge on Saturday evening last. Monaghan were represented in Rince Foirne and  Baileán Ghrúpa by Scotstown, solo singing by Tara Gilsenan of Monaghan Harps, Ceol Uirlise by Drumhowan, Recitation by Colm Kirke and Novelty Act, Rince Seit and Tráth na gCeist by Drumhowan. It was a great night’s entertainment and all our performers gave of their best. A special mention for Francis Connolly Hughes               one of the Scotstown girls, who was a member of the Ballad group and Set Dancing team and who left her hospital bed to perform on stage. She kept up the showbiz tradition of “The Show must go on”.  Two Monaghan acts got the nod from the judges to go through to the Ulster final: Drumhowan in Instrumental Music and Colm Kirke (Clones) in Recitation and we wish them well in the Ulster Final. The Ulster finals are in Derry Saturday, January 12, 2013.
