Sean’s Notes

Irish Music night & Christmas Party.

Next Friday night 14th being the 2nd Friday night of the month see our  Tradition Irish music session taking place in the complex commencing at 9 o’ clock, we are taking this opportunity when so many talented  local and visiting musicians  are on hand  to hold  the club’s Christmas party.  Social centre patrons and adult club members are invited to come along and join what promises to be a great night of musical entertainment and festivity. Definitely an occasion not to be missed, we look forward to seeing our players and supporters   join the seasonal spirit and merry making. Refreshments will be served

Executive Committee ’13. At our AGM held recently the following member were elected; Chairman: Ciaran Mc Entee, Registrar: Marie Mc Entee, Players Representative: Patrick Kieran, Committee: Mary Mc Connon, Peter Sherry, and Michael Mc Elroy, PRO: Cormac Connolly. As can be seen we are shy personnel to fill some key position, more than capable individuals were nominated,  but alas most refused to allow their name remain even on a ballot paper this despite the obvious confidence  members had placed in their ability and integrity to do the job by nominating them in the first place. It is of little solace that Colm ORourke in his Sunday Independent column recently highlighted the difficulty being experienced by clubs nationally in this regard. Hopefully some of those nominated will have second thoughts and will now give serious consideration to serving on our club committee for 2013. Your club need you to get interested and get involved!!!

Bowls. Indoor bowls continues on Thursday nights in the complex main hall from 8.00 -10.30,please note the earlier than previous advertised starting time of 8 o clock; new members always welcome. On the league front things have gotten off to a bright start and if the right result is achieved on Thursday night when Ardaghey are visitors, our representatives will find themselves sitting on top of the league table.
