Primary School Indoor Hurling League

The 2012 Primary Schools Indoor Hurling League commenced on Wednesday 14th of November and ran for three consecutive Wednesdays in the Phoenix Centre Carrickmacross.  In total we had eleven schools from the south of the county taking part. Carrickmacross BNS, Gaelscoil Rois, Castleblaney BNS, Annyalla NS, Corduff NS, Blackstaff NS, Inniskeen NS, Loughmourne NS, Mullaghrafferty NS, Latton NS and Oram NS were the schools that took part.

Pauric Dowdall, Colin Malone and Kevin Quinn were the coaches who were co-ordinating the league. We split the Phoenix Centre into two pitches and at all times we had two games running consecutively.

The standard of hurling was improving each week and all the children seemed to really enjoy taking part. As you can see all the hurling was on the ground and the striking improved dramatically over the three weeks. Also the points awarded for winning(3), losing(1) and drawing(2) was a good idea so even if your team lost you still got a point.

Monaghan Coaching & Games would like to thank all the schools that took part and thank them for their support in developing Hurling within their school.
