Annual general meeting.

A very well attended AGM was held in the club rooms on Thursday 13th. Club Chairman Seamus Coyle started by welcoming everyone and later in a wide ranging address he thanked everyone who give of their time to work on committees and help with the day to day running off the club. Seamus paid tribute to everyone who managed and trained teams from u-6 to senior level. He thanked everyone who sponsored the club throughout the year especially PQE engineering and all the members of our friends of Latton. He congratulated the workers who keep the centre and playing fields in such great condition and a great credit to the club. Seamus wished our new senior team manager and all our teams the best for 2013. Seamus finished by expressing sympathy to all members who had lost loved ones during the year.

Secretary’s report 

Francis Ward give a very comprehensive report of the clubs activities throughout the year from the great success at Scór to the great work done by Bawn handball club and their success on the court. He remembered the great pride within the club when Tommy Bates was honoured by winning the President’s award earlier on in the year. Francis noted the great work done by Miss Flanagan and all the staff at our National school to promote Gaelic games, and their success on the football field winning there division in the schools league for the second year running.

Treasurers report

Paul Quinn give a very detailed and up to date report on the state of the clubs accounts. Paul expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped him out throughout the year especially his assistant Ivan Fitzpatrick.

Scór

Níamh Quinn spoke of the great work that is been done in the club at all age levels in Scór and thanked everyone for their hard work and commitment.

Team mangers

The various adult team mangers spoke about the year’s football and all expressed disappointment at the lack of silver ware after all the hard work the players put in.

Youth officer report

Juvenile officer Paddy Lynch give a detailed account of all the events and achievements of all our under age teams in 2012. Paddy stressed the importance of all team mentors having coaching qualifications and child protection courses done, he thanked  everyone who helped out with juvenile fundraising and praised the hard work done by all the mangers and helpers who worked with our under age teams. Paddy congratulated Martin Duffy and Peter west on their great achievement in winning back to back under 12 titles.

Thankyou

As club PRO I would like to thank everyone who helped the club and me personally throughout the year. I would like to wish all our club members and supporters especially those away from home from London to Australia and the USA all the best in the New Year.

Social centre

Latton GFC will hold there X Mas party night on Thursday 27th December with Special guest the Fuzzy Burgers, a night not to be missed. All bookings for centre to be made through Brendan Fitzpatrick phone o86-8297666.

Xmas swim

Our 5th annual swim takes place on the 25th in aid of the Holy family school Cootehill & our lady’s children’s hospital Dublin. So come down to Lough Avaghan at 12 o’clock and cheer the lads on.
