Thanks to Eoghan Courtney, Janelle McGovern, Katie Cooper, Hannah Mealiff, Gráinne Clerkin and Nicola Hughes for taking part in Rince Foirne (Céilí Dancing) and to David Alford, James Cleary and Sean McElwain who represented us in Tráth na gCeist (Question Time). Well done to Colm Kirke who won the county final in Ardaghy on Friday 23 November in Aithriseoireacht (Recitation). Good luck to Colm who now progresses to the Ulster semi-final on Saturday 8 December in Silverbridge, Co.Armagh.
Congratulations to Jake Reihill who captained the VEC County team against Cavan last week, they were unlucky to be beaten by all accounts. This young player is going places and will be minor for the county again in 2013 hopefully.

Congratulations: to the twelve members of our club on completion of foundation coaching course recently. This will be of huge benefit to the club going forward. Particular thanks to Joanne Reihill and Phelim McElwaine for organising this.
Congratulations also to Tommy McCabe who is feeling like a new man after the beard shave on Friday night last. He’s more used to keeping things well mowed so it must’ve taken a lot to ignore it for the month.
Well Done to Adrian Alford who completed his first week in coaching the students in St. Tiarnachs Primary school. We can all appreciate the challenges facing our younger players in relation to ball skills and fitness. This is a wonderful opportunity for them, the club and Adrian who is getting help from James McElwaine and Kevin Reilly. A word of thanks to Paul O’Connor Monaghan Development Officer for his buy-in and support with this initiative. These five hours every week will make all the difference to the development of juvenile football in Clones.
Funding; delighted to announce the club has received a Sports Capital Grant for €45,000 this week. This money will be used for the upgrade of the club rooms and dressing rooms in line with best practice. A special word of thanks to Enda Graham and Kevin Lynch in driving this.
Santa’s Visit; Santa is coming to SuperValu Clones this Saturday the 8th of December. Adrian and the team will be meeting and greeting all the boys and girls and taking the Dr.Ward Cup on another tour of the town. Christmas came early this year for the boys with the win and they want to pay back the huge support given during the season. We’ll see you all there on Saturday!
Sympathy: On behalf of the club, I would like to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Danny and Ann Reilly and family 14 Beechgrove on the death their Son Caolan. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. Ar dheis De go raibh a h’anam.
