Auction:
Our juvenile committee are organising their bi annual auction. This will take place on Sunday evening 6th November, with viewing at 5 o clock, and hammer dropping at 6 sharp. The complex will be open on Friday evening from 7:30-10pm, Saturday from 3-7pm and Sunday from 1-3;30 for people to drop off their contribution to the auction. This is not an opportunity to declutter due to the DIGITAL changeover, so please do not be offended unless of course you are willing to supply a working digital/ saorview box. Thanking you for your support in advance.
Spraoi Scór:
Both St. Michael’s & St. Mary’s National Schools represented our club in Sproai Scór last Friday in Sean McDermotts complex. Our club had entries in Solo Singing, Question Time, Instrumental Music and Céile Dancing. The standard in each category was very high, and our young competitors performed out of their skins, for a packed house. Unfortunately though, adjudicator decisions did not go our way this night.
Nonetheless! Our young entrants are a credit to their parents, schools and parish. Huge congratulations to all who took part, it being a first for some, they did us proud!
Thank you very much Michelle, Edel, Paula and Monica, for all your hard work in getting everyone prepared. And parents, your dedication and commitment is very much appreciated.

Under 15:
Our under 15 squad travelled to Emyvale on last Saturday week to take part in the Eamonn Mc Elroy/and Benny Connolly memorial cup and shield. Our group had four teams in it Sean Mac Diarmada Harps,Truagh and Galbally. We won our first two games against the Harps and Truagh to set up a group decider against a very strong Galbally team and with a panel of nearly 20 players they proved too strong for a gallant Seans team as group winners Galbally went into the final of the Mc Elroy cup and the Seans took on Scostown in the semi final. This proved to be the game of the day and went right to the wire with the Seans leading by 3 points going into the last minute the referee awarded Scotstown a penalty however the spot kick went just the wrong side of the post and our place in the final was secured. We again came up against Galbally in the final and it was evident from the start that 5 games in just over 2 hours had taken its toll as tiredness was getting the better of all of the team and a well drilled Galbally team who played some fantastic football throughout the day ran out easy winners. It was a great day’s football for all of the lads that took part. However the day was to end on a disappointing note for one of our players as Rian Mc Entee received a serious hip injury. The players’ coaches and physio would like to wish Rian a speedy recovery and return to full fitness as soon as possible.
