 Lotto . The Lotto draw for the  week ending 8th October   saw the following numbers being drawn…..7, 12, 23 and 24. The jackpot was not won and four players won €50 each in the Lucky Dip. The winners were Sean and Stella McEnroe, Eugene McCabe, Rosemary Lynch and P. Maguire.

The Jackpot will be €6,200 next week.

Minor Victory. After the winning exploits of the U-12 and U-14 teams it was the turn of the minors to bring home the silverware last weekend. The team suffered a narrow defeat in the league final after a replay and were determined to go one better in the championship final when they faced Donaghmoyne.

The game was a curtain raiser to the Intermediate Championship final and Magheracloone did not lack support when the game began at two o’clock.

Donaghmoyne started the game with a bang and were 1-3 to no score up after only ten minutes. The rest of the half belonged to Magheracloone and they lead by 1-8 to 1-4 at half time. The Magheracloone goal came from a penalty scored by Alan McCahey.

Magheracloone started the second half as they finished the first and the introduction of subs, Johnny Coleman and Ciaran McClory along with some fine saves from Richard Merrin ensured that Magheracloone stayed in front to the final whistle.

Magheracloone finished the game three points to the good on a score of 2-10 to 1-10 and claimed the Division 2 Championship.

The team mentors, James Ward, Gerry Jones, James Kieran, John McClory and Declan McCahey, were delighted with an outstanding all round team performance and with the commitment shown by the team throughout the season.

The panel and scorers were Richard Merrin, James Carolan, (capt.), Daniel Irwin, Donnacha Kindlon, Oisin Conroy, Paul McArdle, Sean Finnegan, Paudie Kirk, Michael Metzger,(0-1), James Lambe, David Kirk, Sean McClory, Keith Gardiner, Killian Rudden,(1-3), Alan McCahey,(1-6) David Byrne, Ciaran McClory, Cian Freeman, Jonathan Coleman, Sean Marron, Allan Kieran, Paddy Duffy.

Senior Team.   In the senior league Magheracloone have qualified for the semi final and will face Clontibret on Sunday week 21st in Clontibret. In the meantime, the Reserves are due to visit Scotstown this Saturday for their semi final.

Coaching Courses.  As one season finishes preparations begin for 2013. Coaching courses at various levels will take place over the months of October and November and information on these can be got from the juvenile committee or from Paul O’Connor at 086-8374827. If you want to be involved with a team in the club then you must complete the Foundation Course.

The Foundation Course in football will take place on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th October as well as Friday 30th November and Sunday 1st December.

The Level One Coaching Courses will be held on the 2nd, 3rd and 10th November for coaching children while the youth course will be on the 16th, 17th and 23rd November.
