Castleblayney in Ulster Club Championship Final
The final of the Ulster Club Championship Bridie Mc Meniman Shield competition takes place in St. Mellans G.A.A. Grounds , Truagh on Sunday next 21st. October at 1pm., where Monaghan Champions Castleblayney take on Mullaghabawn of Armagh. This will be a curtain raiser to the Senior C Final pairing of Crosserlough, Cavan and Derry Champions Dungiven.
In the quarter finals Castleblayney defeated Cavan Champions Laragh on a scoreline of : 2-06 to 1–02. They then met Antrim Champions Armoy in the semi final on home territory and came away with a 4 point victory. Castleblayney will meet their stiffest opposition yet when they take on the Armagh side on Sunday next.
There’s no stopping this Castleblayney side as they “captured the double “this year when they won both the Royal Jade Senior Championship and the Fitzpatrick Coaches League and a win on Sunday would be the “icing on the cake” for this young side with this accolade on their C.V.
