JFL Final: Aghabog 1-09 Clones 1-09
After a topsy turvy encounter in Scotstown on Sunday, the game ended in a draw. Again we got off to a slow start and found ourselves trailing 1-04 to 0-01 after 15 minutes. Things went from bad to worse when Goalkeeper Sean McBride was forced to go off injured. However we then settled into the game and a goal from Ciaran Logue followed by a couple of good points brought us right back into contention and left the half time score level at 1-05 apiece. We picked up where we left off at the start of the second half and some good play saw us take a 1-09 to 1-06 lead. Clones however came back into the game and hit over three consecutive points to send the final to a replay.

St Mary’s NS Latnamard
St Marys Latnamard were defeated by a strong Clara school team in the final of Cumann na mBunscol competition on Saturday last. Cheered on by a large group of supporters they fought back brilliantly from a half time deficit to lose by the narrowest of margins. Great credit is due to the children in reaching the final & to their mentors Imelda & Dermot. The club acknowledges the work of staff in St Marys in promoting all aspects of Gaelic games for boys & girls in our community.
Sympathy:
The Club would like to extend our sympathy to Madge and the entire Hagan family on the death of Vincent Hagan of Ballagh. Vincent was a former player with Aghabog in the late 1950s.
We would also like to extend our sympathy to Oliver Gavan and the Gavan family, Genagh, on the death of Oliver’s nephew, John Gavan, in Australia.
Card Night: There will be 45 card games in the Clubhouse every Thursday night. First game starts at 9pm. Newcomers are very welcome.
