Tyholland set up a McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship meeting with Doohamlet when they battled past 14-man Donaghmoyne in Sunday’s semi-final in difficult conditions at Drumhowan. Donaghmoyne had Shane Kelly sent off on 22 minutes and goals by Brian McArdle, Raymond Ronaghan and Shane Treanor were enough to see a less-than-inspired Tyholland through.
Clontibret are all but guaranteed a semi-final place in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League after Sunday’s games, but the situation at the other end remains much less clear. Clontibret beat Truagh to continue their good form, while Magheracloone are third after Tommy Freeman hit 2-5 to lead them to victory away to Monaghan Harps. Shane Carey, Kieran Hughes and Orin Heaphey got the goals as Scotstown cruised past an understrength Ballybay team, while Currin edged out Latton to hang on to their chances of a great escape.
Oram beat Killanny on Sunday to join them in fourth place in the Eurotech Junior Football League.
Blackhill won a fiery Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division Four Final against Clones on Sunday, while Emyvale ground out a low-scoring win away to Aughnamullen in the RFL Division Three semi-final replay.
