Currin gave their survival hopes in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League another major boost with a 0-13 to 0-11 win over Magheracloone in their re-fixed match in Inniskeen on Wednesday. The sides were evenly-matched throughout and were level at half-time, but Currin held a narrow lead for much of the match and their greater hunger saw them over the line in an almost identical score as their defeat of Latton on Sunday. It completed a double success over Magheracloone for Currin and moved them ahead of Truagh and within one point of escaping the relegation zone.

 

Corduff are through to the Maguire Transport Minor Football Championship Division Three Final after they edged past St. Patrick’s by 1-13 to 1-12 after extra-time in the first semi-final at Inniskeen on Tuesday. Ballybay and Drumhowan amalgamation St. Pat’s had beaten Corduff in the league final a week earlier, but the south-Monaghan men got their own back to advance to the championship decider, where they will play the winners of Saturday’s game between Cúchulains Sarsfields and St. Tiarnach’s.

 

Truagh Harps booked their place in the Silver Hill Foods Minor Hurling Championship Final when the Truagh/Monaghan Harps combination had a seven-point win over Castleblayney on Monday.
