Castleblayney and Latton completed the Gormley uPVC Senior Football Championship semi-final line-up with hard-earned wins over the weekend. Blayney battled past Scotstown on Saturday, before defending champions Latton saw off Currin on Sunday.
The Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship Final will be between Emyvale and Drumhowan after they won in Sunday’s semi-final double-bill at Scotstown. Emyvale were comfortable winners against 14-man Éire Óg, while Drumhowan had five points to spare over Clones.
The top two in the Drumlin Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League both won on Sunday, when Ballybay and Clontibret had comfortable victories over Carrickmacross and Magheracloone respectively.
Doohamlet are now seven points clear at the top of the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League after they beat Donaghmoyne on Sunday, a result which allowed Rockcorry to move up to second following their second win in three days. Having beaten Cremartin on Friday, Rock got the better of Seán McDermotts on Sunday. Corduff moved two points ahead of the Seáns with Saturday’s defeat of Aughnamullen, while Inniskeen beat Tyholland on Sunday to join the north-Monaghan men in fourth place.
Aghabog and Oram maintained their chances of qualifying for the Eurotech Junior Football League semi-finals with narrow wins at the expense of Killanny and Blackhill respectively on Sunday.
There is now a four-way tie for third place in the Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division One after Clontibret beat Magheracloone on Friday.
The Gerry’s Prepared Veg. Under-12 Football League Finals took place on Saturday, with 11 matches played (six in Ballybay and five in Drumhowan). Magheracloone won the Division One Coyle Cup with a comprehensive win over Carrickmacross, while the Division One Shield went to Truagh. There were also victories for Latton, Drumhowan, Aughnamullen, Donaghmoyne (B), Carrickmacross (B), Rockcorry, Seán McDermotts, Feargal O’Hanlons and Corduff.
