Minor Football

We played Magheracloone in a Play-off for the last place in the semi-final line up. Our minor team learned a very harsh lesson on Sat that you have to play right to the final whistle, as they were winning by 5pts with 4min to play and finished up losing by 3pts. Played in ideal conditions in Corduff the spectators were treated to a good open fast game of football. E Mc Geogh got Latton of to a great start hitting the back of the net after 8min. But M’cloone hit back with some good scores to keep them in touch. When C, Rice scored Lattons second goal 2min before half time we should have went in 3pts up but poor defending let M’cloone in for a goal on the stroke of half time. When R Conlon scored our third goal early in the second half to put us 5pts up Latton looked to have the game under control, this was a lead we would keep to the last minutes of the game when we took our eye off the ball and conceded 2-2 in the last 4mins. Final score Latton 3-12 M’cloone 3-15. Team: P Black, P Mc Guinness, K Lynch, K Shannon,M Farrelly, A Mc Guire, G Mc Elory, M Duffy 1pt, J Mc Elory 4pts, T Lynch 2pts, C Rice 1-0, R Conlon 1-0, C Lynch, D Mc Elory 1pt, E Mc Geough 1-0, D Quinn, D J Mc Mahon 1pt.
