Juniors
Emyvale 0g 12p
Cill Eanna 1g 6p
We made the long trip to Emyvale on Sunday morning last to take on the home-steaders in the junior league. Emyvale were first to register with 3 points on the board from frees before Tommy Kiernan had a good point from play in the 9th minute. This was followed quickly with a Peter Dooley free. Emyvale had their first point from play in the 16th minute but this was cancelled out by a Tommy Kiernan point from play who has been operating at full forward and is proving quite a handfull. The opposition added another point in the 24th minute but Gavin Traynor replied. Peter Dooley pointed from a free after he was fouled himself and brought the half time to 5 points each. At the re-start Emyvale had 2 points from frees and when a high lobbing ball was sent into the full forward and Tommy obliged with a fist and sent to the Emyvale net to put us into the lead for the first time. But this was short lived as Emyvale added 2 points and Gavin Traynor pointed in the 17 minute and the home side finished their scoring with 3 points from frees. We were unable to convert a penalty in the final minute to get a result from this fixure.
