Alpha Lotto – Winning Letters for last Sunday nights lotto in Bens Place was E,K,R,Y. There was no jackpot winner. The winners of the €20 lucky dips were Shauna & Shane Smyth, Derryledigan, Ruth McMahon, Killygoan, Fionn & Riona Brady, Mulladuff, Lindsey Treanor, Magherarney, Brendan Leonard, Lisgall, Ryan & Cathal Sweeney, Shanroe, Eamon Connolly, Shanroe. Next Sunday nights draw will be held in the Skule Inn. The Jackpot will be €3,400. Thanks to all for your continued support to what is an essential club income. Team B is on lotto duty on Sunday 9th September.
Under 16 DVD – a DVD of the under 16 final is available to purchase – if interested please get in touch with Mickey Tierney, Jim O Rourke or Joe Leonard.
LADIES FOOTBALL – u14s: We played Corduff at home in a semi-final last Monday and beat them well with a score of 7-14 to 1-3. We are now in a final against Doohamlet and date has yet to be confirmed. Scorers: Megan McElvaney(3-6), Chloe McBride (2-2),Amy Brady(1-2), Caoimhe McAleer(1-1), Ella Daly(0-01), Roisin Hamill(0-01), Rebecca Hughes(0-01).
u16s: We played Latton at home in a semi-final last Thursday and unfortunately lost out to them by a mere point, final score 4-9 to 4-8.
Minors: We played away to the Seans last Tuesday night and beat them comfortably 7-7 to 3-9. Scorers: Megan McElvaney(3-04), Orla Deery(2-0), Nicole Rooney(1-2), Grainne McCluskey(1-1). We played Aghabog on Tuesday and scores will be in next week.
Seniors – A poor display saw our senior team exit at the semi final stage of the championship on Sunday last. Emyvale were superior in all areas of the field and ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-05.
Under 14 – had a useful run out against Denn from Cavan on Saturday morning last. Thanks to Denn for travelling to Smithboro to play the game. Next game is at home to Aughnamullen on Saturday 15th September.
Under 16 – recorded a 5-14 to 3-08 win over Oram on Monday evening to book a place in the semi final of the championship where they will now play Killeevan. This game is fixed for this evening, Thursday away to Killeevan. Please check with team mgt for throw in time.
Birthday Greetings – Happy birthday to Christopher McGorman and Aidan Leonard who celebrated their 18th birthdays last Sunday night!!!
Sympathy – The Club extends its sympathy to the families and friends of Joy McCann and Anna Colton on their recent bereavements. May they rest in peace.
Gala Ball – 2012 marks the 40th year since the formation of Eire Og GAA and to celebrate this significant milestone in the history of the club a gala ball has been booked for Sunday 28th October (Bank Holiday weekend) in the Four Seasons Hotel, Monaghan. The tickets for this special event are priced at €70 each. More details to follow next week.
