Senior Football.

Last Sunday we played Latton, away in Latton, in the League. Having been disappointed to lose to them in the championship the previous week, this was a totally different display. We began confidently and while playing against a stiff breeze, and despite missing a number of chances we went in level at half time. A great second half display of cohesive team work and excellent scoretaking saw us go ahead and maintain that lead for a deserved one point win, 0-12 to 0-11. Last night, Wednesday, we had to travel to Inniskeen to take on Magheracloone. From next week we will have three home games to complete our inaugural season in senior football. Our future will still be in our own hands and your support for these games will be vital. The Monaghan GAA website will keep you up do date for definite fixtures and these fixtures will also be posted in the village.

Juvenile and Youth.

U-14 Training takes place every Wednesdsay from 4.15p.m. to 5.30p.m and for the younger players on Saturday morning.

Under 14’s play Truagh in Truagh on Saturday morning at 12.00. Best of luck to them in this vital game.

Ladies Football.

Monaghan ladies went down to Cork in the All Ireland Semi-final on Saturday last in Birr. The Cork ladies had obviously learned from their National League defeat of earlier in the year and the Monaghan girls were beaten by a Cork ‘purple patch’ in the first half. Hard luck to Ellen and Laura.
