Senior Football Championship:.

Last Sunday we bowed out of the Senior Championship, being beaten by Latton , currently the reigning champions, by the narrow margin of two points. While many would never have countenanced us competing in the senior championship,  it has to be said that leaving two chances behind us was very disappointing but also something to be proud of,  but the reality is that we just could not replicate the display we had against Scotstown. We again play Latton on Sunday next  9th September, away in Latton, in the League. Throw in is at 12.00p.m.  Note early time. The Monaghan GAA website will keep you up do date for definite fixtures. These fixtures will also be posted in the village.

Josie Moore, R.I.P.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Josie Moore, Teer. We extend our sympathy to her son Robbie, who played with distinction for Currin for many years in the 1970’s and 1980’s, in many positions, particularly in midfield. We also send our condolences to her daughters Mary and Catherine and to her extended family. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.

Fr Cathal Deery and Fr John Mc Kenna.

We in Currin GFC were particularly sad that our curate of a few short years, Fr Cathal Deery has moved on from our community. We enjoyed an excellent relationship with him during the short time he was with us. We welcome Fr John Mc Kenna, a Truagh man, to our parish. Hopefully he has an enjoyable time here.
