The Maguire Transport Minor Football Championships, which are being played on a round-robin basis this year, got underway on Tuesday evening.

In Division One, goals by Evan Doherty, Anthony Croarkin, Fearghal McMahon and Shane Loughran handed Monaghan Harps a Group A win away to Killanny, while Seán Mohan, Tom Moyna, Conor McCarthy and Jack Turley were among the scorers as Scotstown powered their way to a high-scoring victory in Clontibret.

Donaghmoyne were comfortable winners away to Seán McDermotts in Division Two Group A, where the other game produced a draw between Latton and Magheracloone. The Group B matches saw Emyvale and Cremartin get the better of Rock Sarsfields and Truagh respectively.

Cúchulain Sarsfields edged out fellow amalgamated side St. Patrick’s in Division Three Group A, while Inniskeen got a walkover from Tyholland. The Group B games both produced big scores, as Corduff won by the narrowest of margins in a thriller against Doohamlet and St. Tiarnach’s racked up 6-16 in their defeat of Blackhill.
