Sympathy
Deepest sympathy to Keith McAlister and his family on the death of his mother. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dhilis.
Eamonn Clarke R.I.P.
It was with deep sadness that the people of the area learned of the passing of Eamonn Clarke. Joey as he was affectionately known bore his illness with great dignity in the company of his family members. During his time as a playing member of the Geraldines he was a stylish, hardworking player that give of his best and expected the same from his collegues. He maintained a high level of fitness at all times. As a player he also togged out for Annaghminnon Rovers and finished his playing days with Louth side St. Mochtas. It was here that he astablished a successful pub business for a time and he also built his home. Joey displayed his hurling skills with Carrick Emmets for a number of seasons.
A carpenter by trade Joey brought the same level of skill to his workplace. This scribbler as did everyone else that had the privilage to know Joey found him to be an honourable, kind and trustworthy person, one also had to respect his views as he was seldom for turning. These facts were highlighted by the large turn-out at his wake and on the following Sunday when St. Endas Church was packed for his Memorial Mass. We extend our condolences to his extended family. May he rest in peace. Go ndeana Dia trocaire ar a anam dhilis.
