On Sunday Morning the under 14s and 16s hurling development squads went on a trip to the All-Ireland hurling Semi Final which featured The Cats Kilkenny v Tipperary. A total of 30 players and 4 mentors went to the match at Croke Park. When the Boys arrived in Dublin they had a quick lunch before they made their journey to Croke Park to watch the minor match which featured Tipperary against Galway. This was a very exciting clash and it kept the boys at the edge of their seats throughout most of the game, but as the game was coming to a close Tipperary showed too much talent for the Galway boys as they pulled away towards the end and getting a well-deserved victory. Following the excitement of the minor game the senior clash was next. This game was very close in the first half and nothing could separate the two sides and the boys again were the edge of their seats enjoying the hard hitting and high climax in the Croker stadium. Half time approached which was in favour of the Tipperary men leading by a single point. As the second half commenced Croke Park witnessed a different Kilkenny team. This was a more physical and hungrier Kilkenny team and this was proven as the Cats broke away beating Tipperary well in the end. The boys enjoyed the day and for some of these boys it was their first Croke Park experience and it was a great success. Training for the u14 and u16 hurling development squads will take place again this week on Friday the 24th of August. The National Blitzes will take place for both these squads on the 1st of September.
