Doohamlet GFC Notes

Minors:  The Minor team completed their league campaign when losing by a point to St. Tiernachs.  With the majority of the squad still under 16 the team acquitted itself most satisfactorily in the competition.  While they may have enjoyed only one victory over Tyholland all the defeats were by narrow margins.  In the forthcoming Minor Championship Round Robin series Doohamlet play St. Tiernachs, Corduff and Blackhill.

Under 16’s:  Have also completed their league series in the division 1, fifteen a side competition.  With as many as five thirteen year olds featuring in some games this team must surely be among the youngest ever to play at division  one level.  The boys produced gallant performances in all their games.  A victory  over Emyvale and a couple of draws were the stand out results in a campaign when the team remained competitive in every game.  They face Donaghmoyne in the championship on Thursday 30^th August.

Under 14’s:  the under 14’s return to action on Saturday when they play Tyholland away at 12 o’clock.

Under 12’s:  Thanks to Aghabog for the recent challenge which was useful preparation for the play-off match with Tyholland on Tuesday of this week.  A win in this game would earn our team a semi-final against Cremartin.

Well Done:   To the boys on the under 11 team who defeated Cremartin and Oram to win the blitz competition at the Oram sports.  Good to see some of the newcomers to the squad featuring prominently.
