Doohamlet GFC Notes
Championship: Doohamlet 2-07 Inniskeen 0-10
Doohamlet advanced to the next round of the Intermediate Championship after a bruising battle against a very physical Inniskeen side on Saturday evening last. A scoring blitz midway through the first half with goals from Mark Murphy and Shane McManus set Doohamlet up for victory. Doohamlet now meet Rockcorry in the next round. See match report.
League: Cremartin 1-05 Doohamlet 1-12
We travelled to our neighbours Cremartin last week for this eagerly anticipated derby and two valuable league points were collected after a super second half display. The home side started the much brighter and were clearly fired up overturning Doohamlet many times in the first half. However with Cremartin having a majority of possession they only led 1-04 to 0-05 at the break.
Cremartin opened the scoring in the second half to lead by three but this proved to be their final score as Doohamlet led by Paul McArdle and Colin Walshe took complete control and rattled in 1-07 without reply. Shane Connolly, Gabie Casey and Martin Hughes completely snuffed out the Cremartin scoring threat and with Kevin McArdle and Colin Walshe attacking Cremartin from deep caused all sorts of problems for the home defence. Ted Duffy, Jason McElroy and Ollie Hughes were most prominent in the forwards and Doohamlet now go into the games break well positioned to of the Intermediate League.
