Senior Football League.

No games in the last week, our next fixture is on Sunday next 12th August when we travel to Carrickmacross. Throw in at 2.00 p.m. The next fixture will be on the weekend of August 24th – 26th in the Championship. Keep in touch with the Monaghan GAA website for definite fixtures. Also the Fixtures will be posted in the village.

 

Juvenile and Youth.

Training: U-14 Training takes place every Thursday from 4.15p.m. to 5.30p.m. U14’s  play Clones on 11th August at 12.00 in Scotshouse. Please support, it makes a big difference. Training on Saturday mornings for our younger players.  Fixtures etc are all on the official Monaghan website.

 

Ladies Football

Aghabog ladies play Magheracloone in the final on this Friday 10th  August in Latton at 7.30.p.m. Best of luck to all the girls. When they will take the field, they will be resplendent in their new jersies, courtesy of one of their new sponsors, Mc Quaid Autoparts. Well done Seamus and Declan.

 

All Ireland Tickets Raffle

SCOTSHOUSE:

Bingo:  As usual every Tuesday in the Scotshouse Community Centre at 9.00pm.  Newcomers welcome.

Public Digital Switchover Information:  Free Coffee morning.  Monday 3rd September 11.am at Clones Community Forum  No 4 McCurtain Street Clones.  This event will explain what is involved and answer any questions you may have.  All welcome.  Remember if you don’t see about your television soon you may have no picture after 24th October.

Congratulations to Brid and Frankie Hughes on the birth of baby Alanna born last Thursday.  Bridie is the daughter of Maureen and Pa John Smith.

Congratulations also to David Markey member of Howard Memorial Pipe Band under Pipe Major Brendon Murphy winners of Grade 2 recently in Newtownards Dunbarton in Scotland and Cookstown.  Wishing them luck and success in rest of the season.

Citizens Information Clones:  The office is in the Cassandra Centre.  Opening hours Monday to Friday 10.00 – 1.00  &  2.00  – 4.30  Phone 0475299  A very useful office to have locally lets use it and make sure it stays in this area. Here you can get advice for your rights as a consumer, as a tenant, as a purchaser?

Acorn Community Festival:  Friday 10th at 7.00pm Saturday 11th starting at 10.00am and Sunday 12th from 1.00pm

Irish Blood Transfusion Service:  At Largy College Clones on Thursday (Today) August 9th from 5.00pm to 8.30 pm.  It is important to remember that many patients in Hospitals need our blood and this need never ceases.

Redhills:  A good place to visit this week end, Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday.  Please support this local event.

Cemetery Sunday: The annual Blessing of the graves takes place on Sunday 9th September in Scotshouse after 10.00am Mass and at Corrinshigo at 12.noon.

Sympathy to Pat McPhillips whose brother Barney’s wife Mairead (Originally from Belturbet) died recently in Enfield London.  She is to be buried next Wednesday 15th August.
