Ladies Notes:

Seniors: It has been a busy week for our senior team as last Wednesday night they faced Inniskeen in the Intermediate Championship Semi-Final, only to have to do it all again on Monday evening last. When we travelled to Inniskeen last Wednesday night, nerves were clear to see and caused numerous unforced errors. Despite some good periods of play it took a last minute Ellen McCarron point to force the game to a replay. On home ground and with a large attendance of local support, the girls made their intentions for the Intermediate Championship clear, with an emphatic 6-15 to 0-6 win on Monday evening. This was a real team performance with a strong work ethic being displayed across the board. The girls will now face Magheracloone in the Intermediate Championship Final on Friday evening next, August 10th, with a time and venue yet to be confirmed. In the meantime, however, the League will continue with a home game against Corduff this Friday evening, August 3rd. We wish the girls and the management team of Sean Gavan, Shaun Brady and Brenda Boylan (First Aid) the very best in the next week as they make their preparations.

Minors: Our Minors were due to play their first league game this week but due to the Seniors’ replay, this game was postponed. Management will be notifying players of the refixed date.

U-16s: Play Corduff at home this evening at 7pm. They will also be in action this Bank Holiday Monday in the Ronan Leonard Blitz.

U14s: The U14 Championship will be starting shortly. The girls will play Killaney and Truagh in a Round Robin draw, with the top two teams going forward to play semi-finals against the top two from amongst Corduff, Inniskeen and Doohamlet.

U12s: The league proper is now underway. Games at present are on a Saturday morning.

Ronan Leonard Blitz: The annual Ronan Leonard Blitz will take place this Bank Holiday Monday, with the first game due to throw in at 10.15am. Twelve U16 teams from across the County have entered and the tournament is now full. There will be a Shield and a Cup up for grabs. Anyone interested in helping out, please contact Maggie on 087 1257959.

Annual BBQ: Our annual fundraising Bar-b-Que will take place this Saturday night in the Clubhouse, with food by Caroline Murphy and music by Break the Bank. Tickets are on sale at €7.00 and are available from any club member. This is a fantastic annual event and we look forward to seeing a large turnout of hungry mouths on Saturday evening, with things kicking off at 9pm.
