Seniors:
The Senior team were back in League action last Saturday evening away to Monaghan Harps. Scotstown were well in control for the majority of the first half, and went in at the break leading by nine points to four. Much like the meeting between the sides earlier in the season, the second half was a different story, as the Harps staged a fightback to level the game at nine points apiece with ten minutes to play. The Blues got their first point of the second period with just six minutes remaining. An injury to Shane Smyth caused a lengthy delay, and resulted in over five minutes of added time. The Harps looked to have salvaged the draw with a point in the sixty-second minute, but in a pulsating finish substitute Elliot Maguire popped up with a vital goal a minute later, followed by a Heaphey point a minute after that. The Harps registered one last point in the sixty-fifth minute, but it wasn’t enough to deny Scotstown an important victory. The Scotstown team and scorers were: Rory Beggan; Eddie Beggan, William Carroll, Emmet Caulfield; Fergal McPhillips, Donal Morgan, Mark Duffy; Francis Caulfield, Darren Hughes (0-4); Kieran Hughes (0-1), Peter O’Hara (0-2), James Turley; Dermot McCrudden, Paul Grant (0-2), Orin Heaphey (0-2).
