There were wins for Rockcorry and Cremartin this weekend in the McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship. Rock edged out Corduff in an exciting clash on Saturday, while Cremartin held off a Donaghmoyne comeback in another high-scoring encounter on Sunday. The Shamrocks rattled the net three times in the opening quarter and although Donaghmoyne closed the back to six points by half-time (3-3 to 0-6) before scoring two goals of their own in the second half, Cremartin still had five points to spare at full-time on a scoreline of 3-10 to 2-8.
Emyvale are back on top of the Eurotech Junior Football League after they had a four-point win away to next Friday’s JFC opponents Blackhill on Sunday. Drumhowan beat Aghabog by three to move into a share of second place, while Oram cruised past Éire Óg to move clear of the Smithborough outfit at the bottom. Killeevan’s second draw in a row – this time against Killanny – leaves both teams on nine points, alongside Oram, in mid-table.
