Drumhowan and Emyvale are through to the Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship semi-finals after Friday’s games. Goals by Ciarán Deery and Michael Atkinson helped Drumhowan take charge of their game against Éire Óg at Gavan Duffy Park and although the Smithborough men rallied, led by Ronan Cassidy and goal-scorer Paddy Croarkin, Drumhowan held on to edge through by 2-9 to 1-11. Emyvale cruised to a 2-12 to 0-6 win over Blackhill in the other match at Tyholland.
Castleblayney finished top of the group stage of the Silver Hill Foods Senior Hurling Championship after winning their top-of-the-table clash with Inniskeen on Thursday. The top two will be joined in the semi-finals by Truagh and Clontibret, who got the better of Monaghan Harps and Carrickmacross respectively.
The line-up for the semi-finals of the McElvaney Recycling Under-21 Football League Division One is also complete. Scotstown, who got a walkover from Aughnamullen on Thursday, will play Emerald Sarsfields, while Truagh saw off Castleblayney to set up a meeting with Latton.
