Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning 2nd July 2012

 

* Lotto

* Senior Football

We played Clontibret in Inniskeen last Saturday evening, see match report. We play Carrick away on Friday 6th.

Reserve football

We play Truagh at home on Wed evening 11th.

Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Executive Committee will take place Thursday 12th at 9 o’ clock.

Presentation night

A large crowd turned up to show their appreciation to retired Garda Gerry Naughton for all his hard work in the parish over a long number of years. In sport Gerry was involved with the community games and Latton Hurling club. Gerry also sat on the board of management off Latton N S and worked for a long number of years with the parent’s association. We would like to wish Gerry, Carmel and family all the best in the future.  Thank you to the Ramblin Group for providing the music and Gerry Mc Elory for the food.

U-8  &  U-10

On Thursday evening we went to Scotstown for a double blitz. All the kids had a great time and the parents enjoyed a very high standard of football. The next blitz is on Saturday 7th July in Cloghan at 12 o’ clock. Training continues Friday evenings from 6 to 7.  Any parents who are not getting text messages about training contact juvenile management.

Anyone wanting tickets for this game contact club secretary Francis Ward as soon as possible.

U-12

Our U-12 team had another great win on Monday 25th away to Eire Og. We play Clontibret at home on Sat 7th. Training on Tuesday evenings at 6-30.

GAA Cul camp

Latton will host the Kellogg’s GAA Cul camp from Monday 23th to Friday 27th of July. Activities will run from 10.00am to 2.30pm. All children from 6 years to 13 years welcome. This is a great opportunity for the kids to make new friends and improve on all there GAA skills. This year there will be an opportunity to learn all the skills of handball with members of the Bawn handball club who have won Ulster and All Ireland titles.  Application forms from the club or local outlets. Sympathy

The club would like express its sympathy to the Sullivan family on the death of their brother James who passed away at his home in Co Donegal, also to Declan Connolly 0n the sudden death of his brother Damien.

U-16

Our u-16 suffered a heavy defeat at home to Clontibret on Thursday 28th , Latton 1-9 Clontibret 2-20. We would like to wish Stephen Mc Cabe a speedy recovery after breaking his arm in the game.

U-14

We play Killeevan at home on 14th July, training continues as normal.

U-21

Our game with Blayney on Monday evening was called off due to a death in the Blayney club.
