Emyvale GAA Club Notes for Thursday 26th July:
Ulster GAA Minor Football Championship Final: Hard luck to the monaghan team in the Ulster Final on Sunday in Clones, especially to our 3 lads on the team, Colin Hughes, David McAllister and Ryan Mc Anespie. The Club wish the lads best of luck in their next match against Dublin.
JFL: Emyvale v Aghabog: Our senior lads recorded another excellent win in Oliver Plunket Park last Friday night were Aghabog were our opponents. A good solid performance, seen us come out victors on a score line of 1-12 to 9 points. This also sees us remain at the top of the Junior Football league. Team and scorers: Gerard McCaffrey(1-0), Ciaran Connolly, Sean Mc Meel, Michael Flood, Greg Devlin, (0-1), John Flannery, Mervyn Brown, James Bellew, Darren McKernan(0-1), Donal Mc Areavey(0-1), Danny McMahon(0-3,3f), Marty McAree(0-3), James McAllister, Gavin McKernan(0-1,1f). Subs Used: JT Treanor for Mervyn Brown, Cillian McCarron(0-1) for Donal Mc Areavey, Conor Bellew for Marty McAree, Paul McCarron, Danny McMahon, Seamus Downey for Michael Flood.
U21 Semi Final: Our u21s were beaten by a strong Magheracloone team last Tuesday week in the u21 semi-final. Magheracloone got off to a strong start which left Emyvale chasing the game until the final whistle. Magheracloone dominated most areas of the field in which seen them progress to the Final on a score line off 3-12 to Emyvale’s 8 points. Team and scorers: Matthew Mc Aree Mervyn Brown, Emlyn McGee, Fergal McDonald, David Gilbane, Darren McKernan(0-1), Cillian McCarron, Kieran McAree, Conor Bellew, Stephen Askin(0-1), James McAllister, Paul McCarron, Fintan McKenna(0-5,4f), Rory Sherry (0-1), Anthony O’Brien. Subs used: Dylan McKenna for Fergal McDonald, Stephen O’Brien for Anthony O’Brien.
Reserves: Our b team recorded a12 points to 8 win over Inniskeen in Tully last Wednesday evening. This now leaves us in poll position the RFL Div3 table.
Our C team played the last league game of the year in Tully last Saturday evening which seen us beat our neighbours Truagh on a score line of 5-10 to 2-4. Well done to all the lads involved and the management for their commitment throughout the year.
Upcoming Fixtures: Please note that the closed period is from the 29th of July to the 11th of August inclusive.
U/14: Training continues every Monday & Wednesday from 7.00-8.00pm
U/16: Training continues every Monday & Wednesday from 8.00 9.00pm
Tully GAA Summer Camp: Registration is now open for our summer camp which will run from Monday 13th to Friday 17th August from 9:30 to 2pm. it is open to boys and girls from 6yrs to 12 yrs. 1 child €25 2nd, child additional €20, 3rd child additional €15euro. All monies raised will go towards the running of the camp. Anyone interested in taking part please contact Raymond on 0868136587 or Aine on 0851400186.
