Senior Championship:
From a Currin supporters persective it is not possible to find the superlatives to describe our win over Scotstown on Sunday last in the Senior Championship. A few years ago to say that Currin would actually be playing in the Senior championship would have raised many eyebrows, but to beat Scotstown and to do it in the manner that we did deserves huge congratulations and respect. In a great game of football, after a slow and nervous start Currin got to grips with the conditions and playing some marvellous football won more convincingly that the final five point margin suggests. In any team game its the cohesiveness and steadfastness of the combined unit that will always prevail, no one individual can win a game but it sometimes takes a special player and performance to bring out that resolution. On Sunday last …‘Jack was back’… enough said. Declan and Shane and the whole panel, deserve huge congratulations. They are putting in a fantastic effort and I have no doubt that if they can eradicate the silly mistakes then who is to know what might happen. Currin’s next opponents in the Monagahan Senior championship will be the winners of Ballybay and Monaghan Harps. This game will not be be played until the weekend of 25th and 26th August.
