Doohamlet and Aughnamullen won in Saturday’s McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship double-header. Goals by Shane McManus and Mark Murphy had Doohamlet in cruise control against Inniskeen, but they were left hanging on for a 2-7 to 0-10 win after losing their way in the second half. The intermediate league leaders will now play fellow form team Rockcorry in the next round. Aughnamullen had four points from Pete Dooney to thank for their low-scoring defeat of Toome in a dull back-door game.
Éire Óg and Clones completed the Universal Graphics Junior Football Championship semi-final line-up with their victories on Saturday. Clones cruised past Blackhill on a scoreline of 0-17 to 0-4 to book their place in the last four for the sixth year in a row, while Éire Óg saw off Killeevan by 1-14 to 1-6. As Drumhowan and Éire Óg have already met in this year’s championship, no draw was needed for the semis, where Drumhowan will play Clones and Emyvale will take on Éire Óg.
