Lotto – There was no jackpot winner of the lotto draw this week which took place on Monday night, the four lucky dips winners of €50 each were Cathriona Greene, Cairde, Mark Kelly, Oram, Pat McGinn, Cabra and Paddy Mallon, Bree. The numbers drawn were were 11, 17, 27, 28. Congratulations to our monthly prize winner, Keith Hill, Killygola. Next week’s draw will take place next Monday evening in Dignam’s and the monthly prize for July is a barbecue.

Seniors – The seniors safely negotiated the first hurdle in the Championship when they defeated Magheracloone 1-12 to 1-09 at Inniskeen last Saturday. A strong 1st half performance was the platform for the victory with the highlight being a Ryan Treacy goal in the 10th minute. Although Magheracloone rallied in the 2nd half, Blayney were able to step up  and close out the game when threatened. The senior league resumes on Friday night as we play Ballybay at 8.00PM in Ballybay. As a result of the draw, the next round of the senior championship will be against Clontibert.

Junior B – The Bs were in action Last night (Wednesday) against Clontibret, result and report next week. Next Wednesday we face Tyholland in another home fixture.

Minors – The minors had an excellent win over Carrick last week to ensure their place in the semi-finals of the league. The league stage concluded on Tuesday night when they faced Killanny, result next week. The championship has been held back for several weeks owing to Monaghans continued involvement in the Ulster Championship and All Ireland series. The next minor games will now take place after the county minors play in the Ulster Final on 22nd July.

 

Under 16 – The under 16 team  were due to play Carrickmacross last Thursday evening however the game was postponed due to the pitch being unplayable following heavy rain.  The game is yet to be refixed.  The under 16 team will also play Clontibret tonight (Thursday) at 7pm in Clontibret.

 

Under 14 – There are no games for our under 14 team this week
Under 12 – The  under 12 senior team will play Aughnamullen at 12pm on Saturday in St Mary’s Park while the under 12 Development team will play Aghabog at 7pm in Aghabog on Friday night.

 

Under 10 and Under  8 –  Our under 8 team will travel to Cloghan to take part in the county blitz at 12pm this Saturday while Under 10 training continues in the field on Saturday morning  at 10 am.

Under 6 – Parents please note that the Under 6 football has moved to the football field on Thursday  evenings at the same time of 6.00 to 6.50pm .Tom/Keith will confirm via text  system.

 

G4G – Girls football continues this Thursday evening at 7pm at Our Lady’s Secondary School.  Any kids wishing to join are always welcome.

Muckno Mania – In conjunction with the Muckno Mania Festival, The Faughs annual sport day will run on Saturday the 14th July from 3-5pm in St. Mary’s Park, immediately after the Teddy Bear’s picnic.  This is open to age groups from 5 to 12+ years and promises to be an action packed, fun filled two hours. Hope to see you all there.

Cul Camp – The Club will be hosting the GAA Cul Camps in Castleblayney from 9th -13th July for boys and girls aged 5-13 yrs old.  Applications can be made through www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps or contact co-ordinator Colin Malone 086 3515950 or Paul O’Connor 086 8374827.  Forms also distributed through schools and available at club training.

Faughs Summer Camp – The Club will hold their annual Summer Camp in St Marys Park from August 15th to August 18th for boys and girls aged 5-13 yrs old, due to space restrictions places will be limited so we would request that parents get their registrations forms returned to any of the Juvenile Coaches as soon as possible so we can plan a great few days.

Come Cook with Us – Castleblayney Faughs in conjunction with The Muckno Mania Festival will present a cookery demonstration with Chef Alan McArdle tonight, the 12th July in the Glencarn Hotel at 8pm.  This promises to be a very eventful evening with guest appearances from TV3 “Come dine with me” stars and will also feature local “Celebrity” cooks demonstrating their skills.
