Senior League:
Our Seniors were out in the Senior League on Sunday last against Magheracloone away. With our league position at the moment it was important to achieve a win, but unfortunately this didn’t materialise, as they suffered a sucker punch, conceding a goal towards the end of the game. Scotstown led at the break by 7pts to 6 in a game that had been tight. Even with six minutes remaining Scotstown continued to hold the slight advantage of two points, until Magheracloone grabbed a goal towards the end to win on a final score of 1-13 to 2-8. Our next Senior League game will be at home to Clontibret on Friday 6th July.
Reserve League Division One:

Under 14s:
Scotstown and Donaghmoyne played out an entertaining game in the Under 14 FL Div 1 at Donaghmoyne on Wednesday last (6th June). The home side held the edge in the opening two quarters, as they led by 2-4 to 5 in the first quarter and at end of the second quarter the home side was still in front by 3-5 to 11pts. Points from James Sherry (2), Adrian Grew (3), Ruairi McKenna (2), Fergal Sherlock (3) & an Eanna Deery point kept them in touch with Donaghmoyne as they trailed by 3pts at half time. A fine start to the third quarter saw Scotstown level at 14pts to 3-5 with efforts from J. Sherry, A. Grew & F. Sherlock. This was short lived as Donaghmoyne responded with a goal and a point but Scotstown finished the third quarter on a flourish with James Sherry scoring 2-2, to put his team in front by 2-16 to 3-7 at end of third quarter. It was a spirited comeback from the young lads with Fergal Sherlock & Ruairi McKenna extending the advantage in the opening minutes of the final quarter, however, the home side never gave up and responded well with a goal and point, James Sherry added to his fine performance another point and with further goals to follow by substitute Tiárnan McGonnell as the game ended on final score of 4-19 to 4-8. These two teams will meet again in the league at home in Scotstown on Saturday 16th June at 1.15pm. Scotstown team: Darragh McCague, Colum Claisse, Ben McDevitt, Pádraig Meehan, Jamie McKenna, Lorcan Murray, James Sherry (2-6), Ruairi McKenna (0-3), Conor Mallon, Adrian Grew (0-4), Fergal Sherlock (0-5), Jack Mohan, Eanna Deery (0-1). Subs Used: Tiárnan McGonnell (2-0), Donal McKenna, Conor Creighan, James McCague, Matthew Maguire. Our Division One side will be at home to Donaghmoyne on Saturday 16th June at 1.15pm. Crawley Cup:
Well done to our C team on winning their championship semi-final clash with Sean MacDermotts on Friday last in very poor weather conditions. Scotstown had wind advantage in the first half as they carried a six point lead going in at half time. Ross McKenna two opening points & a Paul Sherlock point handed them a 3pts to nil lead on 12mins. This lead may have been greater only for a missed penalty on 5mins, however, Scotstown did score a goal through Ciaran Corrigan on 22mins and points from Adrian Carbin & Gerard Corrigan left things at 1-5 to 2 at half time. The Sean’s had the better exchanges in the second half, as they pushed themselves back into this tie, and holding the home side scoreless for 26mins, thus leaving a point separating the sides in the closing stages, but two inspiration free kicks from Adrian Carbin and a last gasp finger tip save from Darragh Stirrat denied the Sean’s, as our C team won by the minimum of margins in the end on final score of 1-7 to 8. Scotstown team: Darragh Stirrat, Conor Boylan, Fintan Treanor, Niall Corrigan, Mark Corrigan, Damien McKenna, Adrian Carbin (0-3f), Niall McCarville, Damien F McKenna, Shane Rice, Gerard Corrigan (0-1), Ross McKenna (0-2), Paul Sherlock, Declan McCarville, Ciaran Corrigan (1-0). Subs Used: Gavin Turley, Matthew McCague, Mark McKenna, Mark Clerkin & Chris McAleer. They will now meet Oram in the Crawley Cup final, probably on Friday 22nd June.
