Castleblayney maintained their 100% record in the Silver Hill Foods Senior Hurling Championship with a straightforward win away to Monaghan Harps on Thursday, while Truagh squeezed past Carrickmacross to get off the mark.
Doohamlet stretched their lead at the top of the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League to five points with Wednesday’s win over Toome. Rockcorry and Cremartin have now joined Tyholland and Aughnamullen in a four-way tie for second place after Rock continued their good run with a four-point win against Inniskeen and Cremartin drew with Donaghmoyne. Meanwhile, Seán McDermotts are off the bottom after they picked up a second successive win at the expense of Corduff.
Blackhill beat Éire Óg in the Eurotech Junior Football League to leap from second-bottom to a share of third place, leaving the Smithborough men rooted to the foot of the table.
Clontibret have one foot in the GRM Minor Football League Division One semi-finals after they beat Monaghan Harps on Tuesday to overtake them into fourth place. There were also wins for Scotstown and Castleblayney against Killanny and Carrickmacross respectively.
There was nothing much at stake in the final round of the Division Two group, where Emyvale, Donaghmoyne, Latton and Magheracloone had already secured semi-final slots. Donaghmoyne and Emyvale kept up the winning habit by beating Cremartin and Magheracloone, while Latton lost to Rock Sarsfields.
Blackhill beat St. Patrick’s to join them at the top of Division Three, while Corduff booked their semi-final ticket with a high-scoring win over Inniskeen and St. Tiarnach’s signed off by edging out Doohamlet. Tyholland conceded their game with Cúchulains Sarsfields.
