Monaghan Primary School Hurling Skills Competition for 5th & 6th Class Students

On Wednesday 13th June Monaghan Primary Schools Hurling Skills Competition for 5th & 6th class students took place during the Cumann na mBunscol County Finals day for Girls Football & Hurling Leagues in Clontibret O’ Neills GAA grounds. In all we had 8 participants taking part in the skills final, they were; Ryan Bannigan & Logan McQuillan Annyalla NS, Aaron McGee Loughmourne NS, Fionn O’ Callaghan Scoil Rois Carrick, Andrew Woods Blackstaff NS, Oisin Wilcox St Josephs Carrick BNS, Francis McGeough & Colin Merrick Castleblayney BNS. The students qualified for the Final after taking part in the regional finals held on Friday 25th May in St Josephs Boys National School in Carrick. In what was a very competitive and enjoyable competition in extremely wet conditions, Logan McQuillian from Annyalla NS give a near flawless performance by getting 85 out of 90 points and therefore was the worthy winner of the competition.  In second place was Andrew Woods from Blackstaff NS and in third position was Colin Merrick from Castleblayney Boys National.
